River Care 2025 at Sungai Selaru, Serendah
In conjunction with the celebration of World Environment Day and World Rivers Day, Air Selangor organised the River Care 2025 programme with the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” at Sungai Selaru, Serendah. The programme was also attended by the Encik Adam Saffian Ghazali, Chief Executive Officer of Air Selangor, Director of Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS), Dr. Ir. Ts. Hj. Mohmad Asari Daud, the Sungai Selaru River Friends team, Desa Anggerik community, students from Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), as well as employees of Air Selangor and LUAS.
A total of 100 bamboo trees of the Bambusa species were planted along Sungai Selaru as part of efforts to educate the public on the importance of green coverage areas. In addition, participants also cleaned the river area, which will help improve the ecosystem and biodiversity of the surrounding environment.
Since its launch in 2020, the River Care programme has continued to promote riverbank restoration, re-greening efforts, and the integration of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) values in environmental initiatives.
