Air Selangor Launches “NRW Reduction Becoming Mainstream” campaign

We are excited to launch the “NRW Reduction Becoming Mainstream” campaign as we invite the consumers to join forces in playing their part in reducing Non-Revenue Water (NRW). The launch ceremony was officiated by Ir. Abas Abdullah, our Acting Chief Executive Officer, and was witnessed by Dato’ Haji Ahmad Faizal Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara and other invited guests from FOMCA – Federation of Malaysian Consumer Associations and SPRM.
NRW refers to treated water that is produced but is ‘lost’ before reaching the consumers, and it has become one of the biggest challenges in ensuring sustainable and efficient water distribution management for our consumers. Statistics have shown that only 40% of the leaks found by Air Selangor were reported by the public, while other countries like Australia and the United Kingdom recorded a higher number of consumer reports, as high as 90%.
