Air Selangor’s Third Project Launch of the Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) at the Klang Regional Office
Initial post on 19 October 2023
We are pleased to unveil our third project launch of the Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) system installation for Air Selangor’s Klang regional office, as part of our ongoing efforts to raise public awareness on water conservation. This RWH system not only enhances water consumption efficiency by using the collected rainwater – but also reduces the dependency on treated water consumption for non-potable purposes such as watering plants, landscaping and cleaning works.
The project was officiated by our Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Abas Abdullah, which involved the installation of four RWH system units, each with the capacity to store 300 litres of rainwater. On top of that, this RWH system is also equipped with the “Sistem Penuaian Air Hujan (SPAH) Smart Garden” that can direct rainwater for automated mini-scale irrigation in landscaping.
In 2022, we initiated two similar projects for RWH system installations at our Gombak and Kuala Langat regional offices. These efforts are aligned with Air Selangor’s Water Conservation Roadmap 2022 – 2025, wherein we commit to installing two RWH system units in Air Selangor’s regional offices each year.
