NRECC Hands Over the Reimbursement Cheque to Air Selangor – under the NRW Reduction Programme through Approach 2

We were honoured to receive a visit from the Minister of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC), Yang Berhormat Tuan Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad at our headquarters to witness the handing over of the reimbursement cheque in the amount of RM110.98 million under the National Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Reduction Programme through Approach 2.
Under this programme, Air Selangor has been selected as a recipient of a matching grant by successfully achieving the target of the annual NRW rate reduction. The reimbursement is a grant incentive provided by the Malaysian Government to promote effective and consistent NRW reduction based on targets set by the Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN).
In 2021, we managed to record a 0.5% NRW rate reduction making the NRW rate reduction at 28%. We also successfully achieved the targets set for NRW rate reduction for three consecutive years from 2019 to 2021 with a total amount of reimbursement worth RM362.4 million under this programme.
