Air Selangor and SPAN Conduct Joint Enforcement on Illegal Connections in the Klang region
Air Selangor has taken action against illegal water connections in the Klang region. A team consisting of 24 officers from Air Selangor (headquarters and Klang region), the National Water Services Commission (SPAN), and the Sabah Water Department (by invitation from SPAN) conducted enforcement operations at two locations where illegal connections were discovered. Air Selangor permanently disconnected the illegal connections and issued notices of claim for water loss damages to the respective premises owners.
Illegal connections and water theft are against the law under the Water Services Industry Act 2006 (WSIA). The ongoing enforcement operation underscores Air Selangor’s continuous commitment to safeguarding a sustainable water supply for consumers across Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.
