Air Selangor CEO Leads Site Visit to Pulau Ketam: Immediate & Long-Term Water Solutions Outlined
Air Selangor conducted a site visit to Pulau Ketam to engage directly with the local community and discuss both immediate and long-term water supply solutions for the area. Our team was led by CEO, Adam Saffian Ghazali, alongside Head of Distribution Ahmad Fuad Zainudin, Head of Customer Experience, Hj Yunus Othman, Head of Region for Klang, Tengku Mohd Safari Tengku Ahmad and Head of Strategic Operations Anwar Ahmadi Mahmud.
The team listened firsthand to the residents’ concerns and offered immediate mitigation, including providing Reverse Osmosis (RO) water supply and assessing the feasibility of installing portable desalination plants if any pipe rectification works face unforeseen delays or difficulties. With water resilience in mind, we will accelerate pipe replacement at critical areas in Pulau Ketam this year, including at the incoming supply pipeline, with completion due in the second quarter of 2028.
Looking beyond the immediate response, Air Selangor is also evaluating more sustainable long-term solutions for Pulau Ketam. This includes future pipeline enhancement works, as well as through initiatives such as smart metering, digital monitoring, and improved operational visibility. With approximately 1,025 accounts on the island, Pulau Ketam presents an opportunity to pilot innovative and integrated water management solutions.
