Hargai Air: Air Selangor Empowers Water-Saving Culture Through Community & Educational Programmes at Mosques and Schools

Air Selangor, through its Water Conservation Unit, Risk Management Department, has organised a series of programmes as part of its ongoing efforts to empower water conservation education and foster water-saving habits at the community level.

The Water Conservation Unit, in collaboration with the Customer Experience Unit from the Klang region, organised the Hargai Air programme at the Masjid Riadhus Solihin, Seksyen 17 Shah Alam, which was also attended by Air Selangor Chief Executive Officer, Adam Saffian Ghazali. A sermon titled “Hargai Air, Hargai Kehidupan” was delivered by guest speaker Dato’ Ustaz Haji Mohd Fauzi Mustaffa, providing spiritual insights to the congregation on the importance of water conservation in daily life.

As a practical water-saving measure, 36 ablution taps around the mosque were replaced with water-efficient taps. This initiative brings the total number of water-efficient ablution taps replaced at various mosques this year to 1,941.

The Misi Jimat Air programme continued at five schools across Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, namely:

• Welsley Methodist School, Klang
• SK Bandar Banting, Kuala Langat
• SK Sg Tua Baharu, Gombak
• SK Kuala Pomson, Hulu Langat
• SK Jalan Hang Tuah, Kuala Lumpur

More than 800 students and 120 teachers participated in the programme, held in collaboration with the Customer Experience Unit from the Klang, Kuala Langat, Gombak, Hulu Langat dan Kuala Lumpur regions. Through an interactive and engaging approach, the programme introduced students to various water-saving habits that can be practised in their daily routines. Air Selangor remains committed to championing water conservation education and cultivating a water-saving culture at the community level in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.
