Programme ‘Hargai Air’
Air Selangor recently organised the Program Hargai Air at Masjid Putra, Putrajaya, where we replaced 440 taps at all wudhu’ stations around Masjid Putra with water-efficient taps recognised by Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN) under the Water Efficient Product Labelling Scheme (WELPS) programme.
Throughout 2024, our Water Conservation Unit has successfully run collaboration programmes with five other mosques around Selangor, KL, and Putrajaya, namely Masjid Al-Syakirin in Taman Gombak Jaya, Masjid Al-Azhariah in Seksyen 18 Shah Alam, Masjid Kampung Ulu Rening in Hulu Selangor, Masjid Kampung Batu Rawang and Masjid Al-Mukarramah in Bandar Sri Damansara. This is a total of 753 water-efficient taps installed or replaced in all six participating mosques.
The programme serves as a platform for Air Selangor to increase and spread awareness of the importance of water conservation among domestic consumers, towards achieving the 160 LCD by 2030 target set by the government for greater sustainability of water resources within the state.
The team including our CEO Adam Saffian Ghazali FCA also managed to distribute WC Water Saving Kits (water thimbles) to all congregants for free, enabling them to save water at home as domestic users. This is in line with our mission to deliver the best experience to our consumers.
