Strengthening Utility Infrastructure: Air Selangor and TNB Sign Landmark ESA and CESA Agreements in the Presence of DPM Y.A.B Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof
Air Selangor and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) have officially completed the document exchange ceremony for the Electricity Supply Agreement (ESA) and Cooling Energy Supply Agreement (CESA) to strengthen Selangor’s utility infrastructure through more efficient, resilient, and sustainable energy solutions.
The ceremony was held in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), Y.A.B Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof, Dato’ Menteri Besar Selangor and Chairman of Air Selangor, Y.A.B Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Selangor State Secretary, YB Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin, Chief Executive Officer of Air Selangor, Adam Saffian Ghazali and President/Chief Executive Officer of TNB, YBhg. Datuk Ir. Ts. Shamsul Ahmad.
Air Selangor is now the first strategic partner in the water industry to directly receive high-voltage electricity supply through this ESA agreement, ensuring the stability of water treatment and distribution processes for consumers. This strategic investment not only enhances current operational reliability, but is also set to support future water demand growth.
Through the 20-year CESA agreement with TNB, the cooling systems at the Air Selangor Headquarters and the Kuala Lumpur Region Building will be modernised in line with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) through low-carbon infrastructure transformation.
Air Selangor hopes that this strategic partnership will serve as a key catalyst in realising the net-zero carbon emissions agenda, while also strengthening infrastructure to support consumer well-being and deliver the best customer experience.
