Working visit from the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) to the Off-River Storage (ORS) Sungai Labu in Sepang, Selangor 

Kami berbesar hati menerima kunjungan lawatan kerja Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Peralihan Tenaga dan Transformasi Air (PETRA), Dato’ Haji Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli ke Kolam Takungan Air Pinggiran Sungai (TAPS) Sungai Labu di Sepang, Selangor baru-baru ini, disambut oleh Pemangku Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Air Selangor, Ir. Abas Abdullah sebagai tuan rumah.

TAPS Sungai Labu dapat digunakan sebagai kolam takungan bekalan air bersih dan air mentah yang berdekatan kawasan hilir pinggir sungai atau loji yang boleh membekalkan air mentah semasa musim kemarau atau gangguan bekalan air sekiranya insiden pencemaran berlaku yang boleh mengakibatkan henti tugas sementara loji rawatan air.

Dengan kapasiti 9.3 juta meter kiub (MCM), TAPS ini membekalkan air mentah kepada Loji Rawatan Air (LRA) Sungai Labu yang menghasilkan air terawat dengan kapasiti 105 juta liter sehari kepada 54,212 pengguna bagi kawasan Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA), Sepang dan Kuala Langat.

Lawatan tersebut juga dihadiri oleh Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN), Dato’ Hj Ahmad Faizal bin Abdul Rahman.

We are pleased to receive a working visit from the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) to the Off-River Storage (ORS) Sungai Labu in Sepang, Selangor recently, welcomed by the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Air Selangor, Ir. Abas Abdullah as the host.

The Sungai Labu ORS can be used as off-river storage for clean and raw water supply near the downstream area of the river or a plant that can supply raw water during the dry season or water supply disruption in the event of a pollution incident that may result in the temporary shutdown of the water treatment plant.

With a capacity of 9.3 million cubic metres (MCM), this ORS supplies raw water to the Sungai Labu Water Treatment Plant (WTP) which produces treated water with a capacity of 105 million litres per day for 54,212 consumers in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Sepang and Kuala Lumpur area.


The visit was also attended by the Chief Executive Officer of the National Water Services Commission (SPAN), Dato’ Hj Ahmad Faizal Abdul Rahman.
