Pipe leaks and bursts, illegal pipe connections, and meters manipulation are among the top contributors of Non-Revenue Water.
As we continue to embark on various initiatives and efforts to reduce the rate of NRW, Air Selangor has managed to record a reduction of 1.1% in 2020, from 29.7% in 2019 to 28.6%, exceeding the target of 29.2% set by Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN).
We will continue to reduce the NRW rate to 25% by 2025 and 15% by 2049.
As consumers, reducing the NRW rate is essential as the loss of treated water is a waste of precious and limited water sources for our future generations.
