Initial Post on 3 May 2024
We are honoured to have received a visit from Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, the Raja Muda of Selangor, who graciously visited the Semenyih Dam as part of the Program Gagasan Rumpun Selangor at the Hulu Langat district recently.
His Royal Highness’s arrival on site was greeted by the management of Air Selangor, followed by a briefing session by the Acting Director/Head of Operations and Head of Planning & Capital Work, Ir. Ainul Azhar Mohd Jemoner, to His Royal Highness on the history and background of the Semenyih Dam.
His Royal Highness then paid a visit to observe the current condition of the Semenyih Dam, which is one of the water reservoir facilities to increase the water supply, under the Sungai Semenyih Scheme. The dam has a storage capacity of up to 545 million litres of water per day (or 120 million gallons a day) before it is treated to become clean and safe water to be distributed to 1.8 million Selangor’s residents living in the South-West of Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Klang, Sepang and Kuala Langat.
