Initial post on 12 June 2023

Our Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) team was thrilled to receive great support from 103 students from the Faculty of Ocean Engineering Technology and Informatics, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) who attended our talk during the “HSE in University 2.0″ programme recently.

As part of our ongoing commitment to increasing awareness of the integration of Health, Safety and Environment as well as sharing our industrial experience with these students, the programme also aimed at instilling comprehension of industrial HSE requirements, fostering the importance of a safe work culture as well as environmental preservation & conservation.

At the same time, the team also had the opportunity to visit UMT’s Sea Turtle Research Unit (SEATRU) and learn about SEATRU’s emergency management for remote or outside of the telecommunications (telco) network coverage areas that included emergency response training and deep-water safety as well as the use of satellite phones and radio for emergency communication.
